Students will have a chance to gain more understanding about the work environment and the daily activities of the position and industry their host works in. This year, the job shadow program will take place in-person from March 6 – 31, 2023. Students of any age can participate in a job shadow experience virtual or in person. It can also provide valuable opportunities to build network with professionals in your chosen field, explore new career options and evaluate career fit. Job shadowing is a temporary and unpaid experience that provides valuable career information to participants.
They will vary by organization and by your learning goals. No two virtual job shadowing experiences are alike. Through this observation, you’ll learn about the day-to-day responsibilities of the role and the culture of the organization. Job shadowing is an excellent way to learn about a professional's day-to-day responsibilities and decide whether their career appeals to you. Virtual job shadowing is an opportunity for you to shadow, or observe, someone in their job.
